Basement shows[views:2081][posts:8]_____________________________________ [Oct 4,2004 11:46am - sacreligion ""] who puts these on? do people go to them? can we play one? |
_________________________________________________ [Oct 4,2004 11:48am - the_taste_of_cigarettes ""] no one goes to them...just read that Boston Phoenix article. no actually lots of people go to them. they are better than club shows when done right. |
_____________________________________ [Oct 4,2004 11:49am - sacreligion ""] hmmm...i suppose it just takes the right basement |
_____________________________________ [Oct 4,2004 11:49am - sacreligion ""] im up for putting one together if someone has a basement to offer...the only thing is our P.A. could really only be used for vocals and nothing else |
_________________________________ [Oct 4,2004 11:51am - Lincoln ""] When are you planning it for? Perhaps you need more bands? Maybe Attacking Frequencies? |
_________________________________________________ [Oct 4,2004 11:51am - the_taste_of_cigarettes ""] yes it does, and there's not enough "right" or "good" basements these days. people need to get ballsier, craftier, and smartier with putting on house shows...we need more of them. and better venues, not fucking cheesy 21+ joints. I will fight venues with my dick tied behind my back. |
_____________________________________ [Oct 4,2004 11:53am - sacreligion ""] this is only a preliminary idea...i'd do it at my house but there's way too much crap down there and poles in the middle of everything...wouldn't make for that good of a time that plus my weirdo neighbors |
_________________________________________________ [Oct 4,2004 12:02pm - the_taste_of_cigarettes ""] at least you considered it. if you change your mind we could work together to make it possible... that bloodstains place in the Phoenix has 1) a 3ft entrance way that is dangerous as shit 2) a boiler and a tight walk through in the way 3) several poles 4) mold and grime 5) enough space to hold 20 people comfortably that said, I actually had fun at one show there...but the environment is VERY cliquey. This just shows "ideal" basements are not always "ideal" at first glance. I used quotes cause it makes me look like a professor! |
