_______________________________ [Jan 27,2008 2:31pm - yummy ""] One of my favorite bands. I can respect anything that Claypool or anything that the original Primus guys do. Herb's other side project Attention Deficit was a good listen. |

________________________________________ [Jan 27,2008 2:52pm - kadoogasaurus ""] I haven't heard much Primus, but "Iowan Gal" (I think it's Les' solo stuff) is a helluva tune. |
_______________________________ [Jan 27,2008 2:59pm - yummy ""] Haha, corn corn, chicken and corn. That's genius right there. Brain tumor or not. I'm a fan of anything that can't be confused with any other band. Primus falls in that category. Come with us. We'll sail the seas of........................cheese. |

____________________________________ [Jan 27,2008 3:34pm - immortal13 ""] Primus is great. Claypool is definitely a big inlfluence, if you could tell by a lot of the tapping I do. |

______________________________________________ [Jan 27,2008 5:50pm - Chris_From_Shit_Fuck ""] Primus owns. Pork Soda and Frizzle Fry are two of my all time favorite albums. |
____________________________________________________ [Jan 27,2008 5:54pm - menstrual_sweatpants_disco ""] I'm honestly shocked at how many people like this band. |
_____________________________ [Jan 27,2008 5:58pm - ZJD ""] I used to love Primus, now I just like them a whole lot but can't remember the last time I listened to them except for The Brown Album a couple months ago. Frizzle Fry is my favorite by a mile but the Brown Album needs mentioning in this thread. I also really dig some of Les's other projects including Oysterhead and Frog Brigade. I especially liked FB before they had much of their own stuff and just played things from Holy Mackerel and Sausage and stuff. Holy Mackerel I like as much as any Primus release. |
_____________________________ [Jan 27,2008 6:00pm - ZJD ""] Also, I sae the Frog Brigade with Tim Alexander on drums before Purple Onion came out and it was great. |
___________________________________ [Jan 27,2008 6:16pm - dreadkill ""] i haven't listened to primus in a while, but i always liked them and respected their unique sound. |

There are no bad Primus albums either. Don't get me wrong, Tim Alexander is probably my biggest influence, seriously (my 2nd kid's name is Timothy Alexander, and it would be coincidence if I wasn't such a Herb fan.) but even the shit with Bryan Mantia is solid. |

_______________________________ [Jan 27,2008 8:24pm - yummy ""] Even Antipop was worth listening to tho. Not that many great songs but still better than half the other shit that comes out these days. I like the Bucket of Bernie Brains album. I saw Les on the Whales of Woe tour. I wasn't overly impressed but just being in the same room as Les Claypool is still an honor. Plus, they played a Sausage song and one off of the Holy Mackerel. I can't say that about too many other musicians. Not to take away from others. But, he has had quite an impact on my outlook on music. |
___________________________________________ [Jan 27,2008 9:31pm - FuckIsMySignature ""] the brown album was so fucking wierd. |
_______________________________________ [Jan 27,2008 10:37pm - ArrowHeadNLI ""] All I can think of is the scene at the end of Empire Records: "the pixies have way better bass lines than primus!" that said, I was a fan of everything up til Pork Soda. |

Pork Soda was, after all, at the tail end of the first half of their catalog - therefore over 50% of Primus releases came out after PS. IT'S SCIENCE. But I hear ya. |
_______________________________________ [Jan 28,2008 12:54pm - BlackoutRick ""] Wasn't Tim in a death metal band prior to Primus? |
________________________________________ [Jan 28,2008 1:01pm - DestroyYouAlot ""] Possessed - arguably, he was in the FIRST death metal band (depending on what definition you take). He and Les were also in Blind Illusion, which was apparently progressive tech-thrash - I've never heard it, but with those two players, the idea sounds amazing. Come to think of it, maybe I'll track down some now and give you a review. |
